It's about time I finally blogged again... :D I am blogging to let the entire world (or the 3 people who read this on occasion) :D know that I am so incredibly lucky! Yep. I'm going to marry my very best friend in the world on March 15th!!

So I know that picture isn't exactly the best quality...But there you go! :D That lovely park is where I became the official future Mrs. Steven Corry. :D Anyway...I just wanted to blog about my happiness at the moment. :) 70 days... :D

Snow and Icicles...

I love snow. And I love icicles. And I am sitting here in my sister's room looking out the window at both. Yes, it snowed last night...a lot. It managed to turn a 45 minute drive from provo to salt lake into more than a 2 hour drive from provo to salt lake. Craziness. But, I love the snow. And I love icicles. My house has always been a perfect icicle house...I remember the year we had one that reached all the way from above the door down to the ground. Right now I'm watching them drip as they melt away. It's rather sad. I wish I had pictures to post up here of my house, and me, and snow, and icicles, but alas...my camera is having issues(...and I left it in Cedar City...) Therefore, you shall just have to make yourself content with these pictures.
Also...I woke up early today (5:45) and sat in my family room with the fireplace on, and the Christmas tree turned on. That is the very essence of happiness. I love the holidays. I hope to be back with more of a cool blog soon. :D But for now...this will have to suffice. Enjoy!
I wish that were me...walking home to a nice comfy couch by a fire with hot chocolate...and peppermint...*sigh*
I do believe that icicles are some of the single coolest things ever. Yep.
I had to add a picture of peppermint...it's my favorite flavor...I adore candy canes, they are a most marvelous representation of Christmas in my mind...yum.

Yep. It sure has been far too long since I last wrote a lovely blog for all the world to enjoy! So...here is one for today. Tomorrow is the last day of the semester!! Happiness and joy! That means that I should definitely be working on homework right now, but I'd rather write a note to say hello to everyone. :) So, I'm already getting excited for Christmas! My roomie put up a Christmas tree and lots of decorations, and I made little stockings to hang on the banister for all of my roomies...the Christmas spirit is in the air!! I've been thinking, and I want this Christmas to be different. I've been more homesick than ever this year, so I really am looking forward to spending time with my family. I also want to focus more on Christ. I read something in the Ensign that talked about the idea of reading one chapter of Luke every day until Christmas Eve. I have taken that challenge, and thus far, I have loved it! It's giving me a chance to reflect on the Savior's life, and everything he did for me. I think it is helpful to read that before Christmas, because it helps me to understand why His birth is so important, and why we celebrate it. I've also spent a lot of time thinking about future Christmases, and what kind of traditions I want to start in my own family. I know that growing up, my Christmas was always perfect (:D) But I want to be able to start some traditions of my own. I've never approached the holiday season thinking about things this much! It's kind of weird for me! Usually I welcome the break between semesters as a time to relax and play. This time, I'm thinking about all the things I want to do, and all the marvelous stuff I'm going to have to cram into my 2 weeks home. Maybe I should start thinking of simplifying. Hmmm...you think I would have thought of that sooner...I'm a rather simple person. (Just so you know...I'm starting to ramble on to myself at this point...) Anyway...On to other random things...it needs to snow!! Yes, Cedar has not gotten enough snow for me. There is NOTHING on the ground!! And it kind of makes me want to cry. But I'll live...somehow...
Well- I'm off to spend my last 45 minutes at work doing what I should have been doing the whole time...homework. Enjoy! And an early Merry Christmas to all!!

Yep. Any of you who are familiar with Michael McLean's Forgotten Carols may recognize the title of my post...or maybe not. It's a quote from Handel's Dream. Because guess what! I'm going to be Handel!! Yep. Every year my Institute choir goes down to St. George and performs as the back up choir for Michael as he does the Forgotten Carols for 3 nights. We also perform a few of the songs on our own in Cedar City, and have students from the institute do the solos. But this year, he got his own traveling choir. So we were out of a job. But Bro. Mac could not let us go without singing the Forgotten Carols! So our institute is going to perform The Forgotten Carols as they were originally performed! And I have the part of Handel! I am so incredible excited, I just wanted to share my joy with you!! That's really all I have to say right now. So if anyone wants to come to Cedar November 30th or December 1st, to see this amazing show, let me know...tickets will definitely go fast!! :D

Sunday Morning...

Can I just say that Sunday Mornings are beautiful! They're so friendly and peaceful, and if I listen hard enough, I can sometimes hear the organ from the chapel next door. The world seems to move a lot more slowly on Sunday mornings.
Last night Steve and I went to "Crazy for George", an SUU opera production in tribute to George Gershwin. It was marvelous! He wrote such fun music! I had never heard many of the songs before, but they all made me want to just get up and dance! Fortunately, after the production, we went to Cedar City's birthday ball, where we danced the night away to music performed by a local big band. Marvelous. And yes, Cedar City does celebrate its birthday. And it's done right! Performances from Ballroom Dance Team, dancing to a local band made up of all these cute little old guys, and for dessert...cobbler. My personal favorite. :D I tried apple for the first time last night. And it was very good. I think it's about scripture time, so I'm off. -till next time!
ps- I did my running 3 days this past week. Let's see how long I can keep that up. :D

Inspiration

Yes...I received some inspiration today to update my blog more often. (Thanks Elizabeth!) So, although I may not think that I have a lot to say, here goes...the random thoughts and rantings of Lindsey. :D
I observed a class at the local High School this morning. It was Marvelous!! I am minoring in ESL, so I sat in on 40 minutes of a high school level ESL class. Why don't they require that in more of my education classes!! In those 40 minutes, I learned more about ESL than I do in weeks of my actual classes. Observing class = spectacular!
I rearranged my room last night. Yes...if you've seen my room you know that it is slightly small...okay it's tiny. It fits my bed, a bookcase, a bedstand, and nothing else. I very much like the new arrangement. Okay...all I did was move the bed a foot and a half away from the microscopic window and move my bedstand to the other side, but it made a huge difference! I love small changes like that. They add just enough variety to make me content. :D
Running = Bliss. I discovered yesterday that running could just be the thing that will keep me sane. I think I have discovered that several times, I just never act on it. So...I promise myself right here and right now that I will run more often. At least 3 days per week. Ha!
As the holidays approach...Thanksgiving is two weeks from yesterday!...I look forward most to the family, traditions, comfort, warmth, and happiness. I look forward to the smell of yummy treats in the kitchen, curling up by the fire with a peppermint stick and a good book, coming in for a cup of hot cocoa after exerting all of my energy to play in the snow, and countless other Holiday treats.
I think that's all for this present moment... It's about time for me to leave the education lab. :) More to follow...

Oh my oh my!!
Time is flying by! And I am so ridiculously behind on my blogging!! So...this past summer was marvelous! I did orientation, I worked, and I took 2 classes. It was much fun. :) Now, there are only 4 weeks of school before finals! Craziness! I'm still working in the Honors Office, and now I'm also working as a lab assistant in the Education Lab...good times. No more Soda Jerk for me. Yes...slightly sad. :( Yep. Oh, and of course I'm still dating this most amazing guy!! Now...a few pictures for your enjoyment. :DThis is in Sun Valley- my family took a vacation there this summer, and we brought Steve along! He's got some amazing ice skating skills!!And here he is...the Amazing Steve!!! :DAnd here is the lovely pumpkin we carved for Halloween :D Yay for pumpkins!!

So...I'm feeling very behind in the blogging world. Therefore...I am updating my blog. :) I am still in Cedar...(actually I'm in slc right now for my sister's graduation, but I'm still living in cedar) and I'm taking some classes this summer. So far I love both classes, and I think they're going to be a lot of fun! I'm still working at Bulloch Drug store as a soda jerk, working for the Honors Program, and I'm going to be an orientation leader when orientation starts in a week and a half. HOPE tour is over, and I absolutely loved every minute of the choir, and of tour! It was so much fun!! I'll have to steal some pictures from someone and then put them up here. :D I'm living in pretty much the coolest house with the coolest roommates ever!! Me, Stacey, Cami, Jentry, and Sara are all living in a house near campus. I love it!! And after some bumps in the road, things are well with the Senor Steve! I sure did miss him. :) Here are a few pictures of my latest adventures- San Francisco with the family over Easter vacation, and a bunch of honors students in Bryce Canyon 2 weeks ago. Enjoy :)

A cool experience...

I would like to share with you all a cool experience I had this morning. I was supposed to go down to St. George with 2 of my roommates to go to the temple. But they both decided not to go yesterday. So I wasn’t going to go either, because gas is ridiculously expensive and it’s 50 miles away. But I felt very strongly that I needed to go. When I woke up this morning something was just pushing me out of bed and I really felt like the temple was where I needed to be today. I think Satan was trying to keep me away though, because not only was gas a problem, but when I looked at my new temple recommend, I discovered that the "date of issue" was blank. After many phone calls and rushing around Cedar City, I got it taken care of and I was finally on my way to the temple! As soon as I got on the freeway, I started crying and I didn’t know why. And I'm not one to cry much at all! After a while, I had the feeling that I was not the only one in my car. It was weird, but very nice. I’ve had a rough month, and I felt like there were people in the car helping to comfort me. Yes...it sounds like one of those stories from the Ensign...but I'm serious! At first I couldn't tell who it was that I felt in the car with me. I think I have an idea on one of them, but it felt like there was more than one. I cried the whole way to the temple. It's a miracle I could still see everything on the road perfectly! I got to the temple and went in to do baptisms. The volunteers were very happy to see me, and asked me how long I had. I replied that I had all day and was in no hurry to get anywhere. The kind lady at the desk said that was great and how would I like to be baptized and confirmed for 22 people? I said I would love to, and it was great! And now I realize that it is no wonder I felt so strongly about going to the temple today. I had 22 “guardian angels” keeping an eye on me and making sure I got here to help them. As weird as it seems, I think that at least one of those women I was baptized for was in the car with me too. I don't know who...but they must have known that I really needed some extra help today. And that is my story for you all. :) I know it sounds weird...especially because nothing even remotely like this has ever happened to me, but it was a very cool experience for me!

Along with my story...I just want to tell all of my friends and family who may happen to read this blog that I love you all LOTS and LOTS!! yep. that's all.

I love Christmastime. So...here are some random thoughts and pictures.Gingerbread houses!!...or Graham Cracker Houses. We make them at my Grandma's Christmas party every year, and this year was no exception! It was lots of fun...and Steve got to make one too. Although he slightly outdid us with a very finely crafted extra large house! And also at my Grandma's Christmas party...........Santa Claus!! Yep...and of course he looks nothing like my dad... ;) We all got to sit on his lap and ask him for one Christmas present this year.Last night, I watched the LDS movie "Joy to the World". I had never seen the whole thing before, and it was incredible! I really liked the part about the people in the Americas. I've read that account a few times, but it was really neat to see it acted out at the same time as the Christmas story! It really helps me to realize why we celebrate this season!!It's for Him. Jesus Christ. The first gift our Father gave us...which led to Christ's Atonement- the greatest gift any brother could give us. So in the end, it's not about the presents, the tree, or even Santa Claus! It's all about Jesus Christ. That's what this whole season boils down to. That's what everything in the world boils down to! Everything in the world bears witness of Christ...I don't remember what that scripture is...but it's true! Christmas has always meant Friends and Family too. So, I shall close with a picture of my best friend, who I wish I were able to spend Christmas with. And now I'm off to see "A Christmas Carol" with my family. A tradition I absolutely love, as it helps me get in the giving spirit :D I love you all, and wish you a VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS!

Hi everyone!
Here is a little catch up blog...i haven't written in a while. And I have some Christmas pictures I'd like to post, but they are still in my dad's car...so here are some other pictures :D Yep yep. The rest of the school year was a lot of fun- and now it's over and I'm already excited for next semester! But in the meantime, it's nice to slow down, play with my family, and celebrate Christmas! Yep yep. Here's me and Steve at the Thanksgiving Dinner for my ward. Yummy!! I love Thanksgiving!!
And here are some pictures of the Institute dances! First the Halloween Dance! (we're a pinata and a little kid...) Who would have known that there would be 2 pinatas!! Crazy eh? :) Then we went to the formal. Machee did my hair and makeup...and I felt like a princess!! Over Thanksgiving Break...I came back to Salt Lake and played with my family! We got ready for Christmas by decorating the house (yes...I'm wearing a tree skirt...) and seeing the lights at temple square. My extended family and I got to go do some family names for a friend of my Grandmother's at the temple. After a dinner at The Garden, I was able to get a picture of all of us in front of the grand tree in the Joseph Smith Memorial Building. Good times... :DAnd I shall close with a picture of my new brick! I love it much! Steve helped me with it (the stars make the constellation Cassiopia!) However...I no longer live in Juniper...because I officially have moved into a HOUSE!! Yep yep. So...in the near future, I shall make a Christmas blog...with pictures of my Grandma's Christmas party and other wonderful Christmas endeavors!! Until then- MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!

Life: Time for a few changes!

Yep yep yep. I have changed my major yet again! But guess what...I'm back where I started! You guessed it. I'm back to majoring in elementary education! and my minor shall be music for elementary ed. I am so excited! I've felt good about my other majors...but not this good!! I just wanted to share that happiness with you all! My life is changing a lot right now...I'm changing majors, and I'm also moving out! Yep. In January I'm moving into a house with some of my good friends. I'm officially leaving Juniper Hall. Well...I still need to sell my contract...but then I'm officially moving! These changes have been stressing me out a little bit, along with tough classes, Relief Society, my somewhat newly acquired job, trying to see my friends every once in a while, and still dating Senor Steve :D But as stressed as I've been...I'm positively loving every minute of it! I love everything I'm doing, and I just love my life right now! I've come to really rely on the tender mercies of the Lord! When it feels like everything is falling apart, I am always able to find something or someone to help me get through it. I love the peace I can find through the gospel!! I don't know what I'd do without it!! Random...I start talking about school, and I end talking about church. Okay! :D Well, I hope life is going GREAT for everyone right now! Because it sure should be!! Love you all!!

Hey look! It's me and Steve at Conference! Yay! Yeppers. We went to Salt Lake this weekend with Stacey. And it was an absolute blast! I was so excited to see my family again, and to be back in salt lake! and my family was uberly excited to meet steve! We had oodles of fun...and even got to attend the sunday morning session of conference. It filled me with joy beyond all joy! So, pretty much, this weekend was AWESOME!!! and I just wanted to say so. yep. Peace out...to quote steve...:D

Balloons!!

So this is what Steve and I were supposed to see early this morning...hot air balloons rising into the air!! we even woke up early and everything to be at the field around 6:30 or 7 when Skyfest was supposed to prepare to launch their balloons into the air. However, i guess it was too windy or something, because they didn't go up!! Sad day. :( I just wanted to say that. But it was a fun morning anyway! We had an early breakfast at Denny's, and then read scriptures at the institute! :D I like that place! And HOPE choir was singing Christmas songs!! Yes...I love Christmas songs, they're probably my favorite. So I'm in a very good mood at the moment! And I still have 2 1/2 hours before I have to go to my next class, so I wanted to add yet another new post :) I'm kind of having fun with this whole posting thing.....:D Yay for Blogs! Well, I'm off now. Have a beautifully brilliant day, and look for hot air balloons!! :D

yep. so i decided to change my background. i think i kinda like this green thing! I don't have much to write here :D Life is absolutely amazing!! I just had an interview for a job i REALLY want, so I'll let you know how that goes. I'm feeling quite good about it...so i hope that's a good sign :D Other than that, I've just spent the afternoon relaxing and working on some homework. and now i'm back to O-Chem studying!! Yes...I'm recommiting myself to studying my brains out for that class! It's a tough one, and although I absolutely love it...I am struggling a bit...:) That's pretty much it at the moment. My eventful and crazy life has decided to take a break or something...so there's not much going on besides studying...and preparing a talk i'm giving this sunday...:D So, I should probably head off and do something productive. since this really wasn't a very eventful post. i just felt like adding a new one since i changed my background and all...:D haha!

Hey look! I made a new post before Steve did! tee hee hee! So...this post comes as a break from O-Chem studying! yep...I have a test in a little over an hour, and so I decided to take a wee little break! Hi everyone...aka...Steve! haha. Maybe I'll remind some people about this blog thingy and see if anyone else reads it! That would be cool!...anywhoo!! I have been mucholy busy the past few weeks! I am still serving on Honors Council-I'm the activities chairman, so I planned the opening meeting on Wednesday, and I'm finishing up preparations for the Freshmen Retreat tonight and tomorrow morning. it's going to be great! I also just got called as the institute choir Vice President, Steve is el presidente! And my new ward calling is Relief Society President. Yep. So between getting all of that stuff organized, I've been a bit busy! however...life is beginning to calm down again, so I think I'll be able to make more awesome posts...hmmm...only they're really not that awesome! So I'm pretty excited that me, Steve, Stacey, and Jens are coming up to SLC in 3 weeks to go to general conference!! YAY!!! It's going to be most awesome! well...I really should get back to my studying...i'm starting to feel a little guilty. :) I love you all...and if you are reading this...you ROCK!! okay steve...now it's really your turn to make a new post! tee hee hee!

just because steve said i needed a new post :D ...his exact words being "if you blog it, they will come"...however, I think that steve is pretty much the only person who ever reads this blog, and only rarely...so HI Steve!! School has started, and i am superbly busy! My classes are keeping me PLENTY busy!! a whole lot harder than last semester!! :) and the honors program is quite sure to take over my life one of these days, but I am absolutely loving every minute of it!! Highlight of the week...steve and i made a new friend on monday night! his name is bruno, and he's a duck. not just an ordinary duck though! oh no my friends! this was the most incredibly amazing duck EVER! He followed us, he let us pet him, he stuck his head in steve's shirt, and he sat on my lap! crazy beyond all crazy, yes, i know! but it was good times indeed!! um...i really don't have much else to say. i am about to go to help set up the club fair...isaac and i are in charge of the honors program table, so i should probably get over there and start helping to get organized...tee hee hee!! if anyone other than steve is reading this...you are my hero! but steve...you can still be my hero, just because you're splendidly cool!! Aha! It worketh! :D I'm way excited about getting this thing started again! I just got back from orientation. That's way exciting! I get free lunch, and I get to go sit at the Honors Table and answer any questions people have. It's awesome! I've also met about 5 or 6 girls who are going to live on my hall next year! I'm just getting ready to go in to work at the soda fountain. Only a few more days left! Sad face! I have absolutely loved that job! Its so fun, and I've made great friends through working there!! I don't really have much else to say...so here's a picture to sum up the summer! It's me, machee, and caitlin at the beginning of the summer. We had quite the awesome party...cookies and crazy dance party at my place, movie (Father of the Bride Part 2 :D) at Machee's, and then a sleepover at Caitlin's. Yep...This summer has been awesome!! And now it's almost over!...or is it just starting...? I'm not quite sure. :D I go home in a week, and I get to help cater a wedding! I get to make my famous chocolate mint truffles! Happy day!!! It will be the first time ever trying to make them during the summer...I hope they work! Well, I'm off to finish my chemistry homework and go be a soda jerk! :D

wow. so much for this idea! Uh...maybe i'll actually get better about posting when school starts! Pretty much in a nutshell-this summer is awesome! This weekend was awesome! My familia came and i got to play with them. Yesterday was the funnest day ever! I spent the afternoon/evening/night with some new friends up the mountain! Steve and I went exploring and scared the ducks while using a paddle boat! Now I'm going to get back to some chemistry studying. :) If you're reading this...you're awesome! I don't think anyone reads this anymore...but that's okay! See ya!

The Lights!

Aaaah! I absolutely love the lights downtown at temple square! So a bunch of my friends and I had a big party on Friday night at my house. And we got to go down to temple square and see the lights! Unfortunately, the temple grounds were already closed, but we did get to walk around and see the nativity and the luminaries! It was quite fun! Here's a cool picture of everyone who ended up downtown. There were a lot more people than I thought would show up! Then it was back to my house for a sleepover. Thanks to everyone who came...it was an absolute blast!!! So I pretty much just wanted to say that I love my friends and I'm glad that we got to have a big "hurrah" or whatever right after finals. And I'm glad most of the drama is gone! Haha...:) I love you all!! ~Lindz

Hey all! I'm still waiting for snow down here... hmmm...i think it all got sidetracked up in salt lake. You snow stealers! Besides the crazy weather, life in cedar city is wonderful. I love school here, and I love the people, and I love the classes!! It's a wonderful thing! Finals are coming up, and it's a terrifying concept. I have 3 finals...2 are comprehensive and 1 is on the last 6 chapters of the book. I'm kinda scared...I've never taken a college final before. Ah well, hopefully all will turn out well! Then it's time to go home!! I can't wait to go home...I miss everyone so much! And I miss SLC a whole lot more than I ever thought I would! The good ol' city!! It's a wonderful place. Well, I don't really have any fun stories to tell...well, I do have one, but I'd rather not publish it online, and I'm still waiting for more developments, so i'll let ya'll know about that one later :) I LOVE you all and I hope you're all loving life at the moment! Lovely Bricks!

Hey there friends! So, life down here continues to be absolutely spiffy! Last Thursday we had a fun hall activity! Our floor and the guys floor below us got to paint our bricks...yes...on the wall. Starting last year, it's tradition for the Honors Floors to paint one brick by their door. It was a blast!! Here are some fun pictures of the goings on of the evening! I hope everyone is having fun! I really can't wait for it to snow down here...we played in the leaves a few weeks ago, and now we're all anxious to build snowmen and snowangels and have snowball fights, and go sledding on Dustin and Damian's duct tape boat/sled...it's going to be fun!! Hey ya'll!! I really don't know what to post on this thingy...hmmm...Life down here is absolutely grand!! I definitely made the right decision for me!! I admit, I was kind of worried about coming down here, because in my head BYU always made more sense. But it just didn't feel right. So I chose SUU. A few weeks ago in relief society my friend Jael taught the lesson. And this was one of the quotes she used: "When your heart begins to tell you things that your mind does not, then you are getting the Spirit of the Lord." -President Harold B. Lee. I've come to adore that quote, because that's just how I felt before I came down here. And as most of you know...this has been the best decision I've ever made in my life! I have made so many amazing friends, I'm learning so much, and I just feel like I've finally found the place where I really fit in. It's wonderful!
So that was my random rant of the day...:) Our football team won their first game on saturday! Now we're 1-5! Yay! It was a pretty intense game! We won in overtime, on a field goal, after the other team had already tried and fumbled the ball right before their field goal! My friends and I are quickly becoming some of the football team's biggest fans! We were the only students at the tailgate party, and we got front row seats right on the 50 yard line. I was not able to talk much on sunday morning, due to the fact that i screamed my guts out at the game. It was a lovely experience, followed up by a lot of fun with a bunch of my friends. (we watched the prince and me! yay!) Well, I really don't know what else to say here. We don't have school today, so i'm probably going to try to get caught up on some homework and see what my friends have planned for the day! I hope you're all having fun!! Hey ya'll!! I am thinking that instead of sending out mass amounts of email, maybe i'll just update this cool blog thingy! (thanks for the idea peter and leslie!) that may make things easier, and i think it may be pretty fun! So let's see how this works out...:) ~Lindz
By the way...here's a fun picture my roomie took after i spilled my dinner all over the floor last week...that just shows how easily amused we are here in juniper c300! 4 people took pictures of me next to my mess...hmmm....starved for entertainment are we?
